It's been a very busy term so apologies for the lack of posts this term. We started the term off with separate girls and boys Kapa Haka sessions, with around 90-100 students attending each week.
The Ahurei is coming up in November and we are limited in the number of students we can have on stage for this event - so in recent weeks just the older students have been meeting with Koro Tini. They have been learning some of the things that the group will be performing in the Ahurei. Most of the Year 5 and 6 students and just a few younger students have been involved. The group to perform on stage is still to be finalised but will be selected from this group.
It has been wonderful to have our Kaumatua attending Kapa Haka for the past month. He also brought his nephew last week and his daughter today. We have had a real audience to perform to!
Today the students practised a new waiata. We told them we would post the words and them singing online so that they can practice at home.
Lots of photos from this term to share so here are a few of our favourites.
